Biografy of Maria SHARAPOVA
I am a Russian tennis player. I was born on 19 April 1987. I've played tennis since I was four years old. When I was four years old, Yergevy gave me my first tennis racket. He was a successful tennis player and he was the son of my father's friend. Then, I went practising with my father in a local park. I took my first tennis lessons from a Russian coach, Yuri Yutkin. When I was seven years old, I went to a tennis clinic in Moscow. Martina Navratilova was running this clinic.
She was so amazed with my talent that she told me to go to Nic Bolletteri's famous Academy in Florida. We didn't enough money and we couldn't speak English. But my father borrowed some money and he took me to the USA. I was excited about my new life. When we were in Florida, my father did lots of jobs. For example, he washed the dishes in restaurants and cleaned cars. I was too young to go to the academy so, I waited. I won a scholarship and I went to the academy when I was nine years old. I made lots of friends there. I've won a lot of tennis tournaments since I was thirteen. I have travelled to a lot of countries with my father. I've acted in a lot of advertisements on TV and I've been the face of several fashion houses. Now, I am the most popular athlete on the Internet. I am happy about my success.
